Lakeside Apartment: Space Optimization & Interior Design Directions
This high-end residential project in Switzerland began with a fundamental need: optimizing a complex floor plan to maximize space, functional flow, and natural light. The clients approached Sanber Studio to redefine the architectural layout before moving into the final interior visualization phase.
The main challenge was balancing spatial efficiency with an airy, contemporary feel. The initial distribution required careful problem-solving to improve circulation while establishing a coherent design aesthetic across all living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
Our team focused on unlocking the full potential of the floor plan. We reconfigured the shared spaces into an open-plan layout, turning the kitchen into the functional heart of the home. By designing custom joinery and smart storage solutions, we eliminated visual clutter, making the apartment feel expansive and intentional.
Our layout proposal was so structurally sound that it was successfully integrated into the official architectural plans and approved by the local municipality, providing the clients with the confidence and clarity needed to move forward into the construction phase.
To establish the look and feel of the apartment, we developed three distinct interior design style variations, using a newly selected light white oak parquet as the canvas to capture the lakeside light.
A monochromatic sanctuary focused on tactile minimalism. This direction utilizes warm neutrals, creamy stones, and soft fabrics like bouclé and linen. By avoiding dark contrasts, the design maximizes the sense of openness, allowing natural daylight to define the atmosphere.
Through collaborative design and rigorous space planning, Sanber Studio delivered a comprehensive framework that serves as a definitive reference for the construction team, joiners, and electrical planners.
